I upgraded to an IPhone 5 "smart standard package" on 15 December 2012. I specifically asked the agent doing the upgrade that where I use a wireless router which has a 2 gig per month data package can I link my cell phone to this wireless router and only use the 2 gigs on the router as opposed to the 300mb I get on my smart standard IPhone package. He said "yes" this is absolutely possible. I then signed the contract. I run my own business and am on the road all day everyday and together with my laptop, wireless router and IPhone they are all connected to this wireless router at all times all day. Since the 15 December 2012 to the 15 February 2013 my account reflects an amount of R5, 000.00 data usage. It's obvious to me that I have been charged on data usage twice. Vodacom Data Portal did an audit of this data usage and kindly decided to waive the usage for the month of February only as a good will gesture. This means I still have an outstanding balance of R2, 500.00. My phone is currently soft blocked and I assume if this outstanding balance is not paid it will be fully blocked.
