Handed phone in at Eastgate Customer Care for battery and overheating issue. When handing in I asked the consultant whether the cracked screen will make a difference to the phone being repaired (screen has been cracked for at least 6 months. The consultant said that this will not make a difference as the issue is not screen related but battery related.
The phone was tested at repair centre and then sent to the advanced repair centre as they could not fix the issue. I then heard nothing for 5 days, I called and a helpful lady said that she will investigate and come back to me. She said that if the phone cannot be repaired, it will be replaced.
Two days later (Thursday 29 March) I called repair centre again to follow up and was confronted with an arrogant and totally unhelpful lady who informed me that there is now a cost of R2900 for placement costs. On querying why, she told me that it is due to physical damage (this was not what I was told when querying it with two other people. On requesting that I speak to a manager she proceeded to tell me that this will make no difference as I will get the same answer. Do consultants make decisions for seniors? Will move business ASAP.
