I recently upgraded at my contract in February and migrated from a TopUp account to smart contract. I had a large amount of airtime that I had accrued without using which was due to expire when I migrated. However, the lady at the Vodashop in Claremont (CPT) assured me that if I converted this to a data bundle then the bundle would carry over and I could use the data on the new phone in the new month. I did this and bought a 2GB bundle for R349, which was due to expire at the end of March (next calender month).
However, after migrating, I noticed that the only data bundle on my contract was the standard monthly bundle I received as part of the new contract. I phoned the 111 call centre & they informed me that any bundles do not carry over when migrating - you lose it all. This is extremely frustrating because had the lady at Vodacom told me this, I would have made another use of the remaining top up contract airtime. I bought the bundle on the last day of February, which meant that Vodacom scored R349 off me. Surely if you've bought the airtime on the top up contract - Vodacom can't make that airtime value disappear! I've paid R349 for services that they haven't provided me with!
