Worse service ever - What happend to CPA???

Last Saturday I went to Vodacom Shop N1 City to upgrade my contract. The lady that help me was very nice of cause because for the next 24months they get money again. From Thursday my new phone started giving problems with overheating and the battery only last for a few hours. I don't even use my phone but every 4hours I have to charge the phone then the battery is flat. Friday the phone got so hot I could hardly hold it in my hand and I had to charge it 3times. I took it back to the shop since the phone is still under the 7days out of the box warranty. The guy in the shop tells me it is out of the warranty since I got the phone Saturday and that gets counted as day1. If that is so then they have to check what time I got the phone as well. So technically I was still in my 7days. Now they want to send the phone away and I sit without a phone! I don't understand it is a new phone and I want a new one. I pay Vodacom a lot of money for this unacceptable service and inconvenient? Is there any place out there that still cares about good customer service / after sales service and their customer happiness? NO all they want is your money. VERY UNHAPPY!!! NO compensation from their side!!
