Been a loyal MTN subscriber for years. 2 years ago took out a 2nd contract & I'm very disappointed in MTN. I was due for an upgrade 4 months ago, but got told that I had to wait till the end of the contract period if I wanted to downgrade the contract. You can upgrade without any issues at any time, but the moment you want to downgrade then there is a million clauses that you cannot do this and you cannot do that. So with that in mind I decided to cancel the Topup contract 1 month before the end of the contract period, as we wanted to DOWNGRADE and was told that this is what we had to do. With this in mind, If you pay for a service from month to month, then surely MTN cannot just cancel the contract when it suits them, as I have PAID for something that only expired on the 20th seeing that this is Topup. Not only was the contract moved to pre-paid over the weekend but we also lost R500 worth of airtime, which we were not informed about. I was told to get a second MTN simcard & transfer the money to this number. Kinda funny that this is not a simple process, because this also has loads of clauses, I feel that MTN has robbed me and want to open a case of at the police!
