Misleading info led to wrong decision

On 15/03 when Lydia called me for an upgrade I told her I want to cancel the contract. we spoke for a long time and i made it very clear that i dont want a new contract as this is my daughter's line and i want her to be independent. Lydia aknowledged my point, however she convinced me not to totally cancel the contract but rather downgrade to a "no new hadset top up49" and LEAVE THIS CONTRACT OPEN, WHO KNOWS I MIGHT NEED A HANDSET LATER". I agreed to this and signed up for the top up 49 with no new handset, fully knowing that later if Ihappen to need a new handset i can always call and tell them that. I called yesterday and got through to Calvin, who couldnt transfer me to Lydia. he told me point blank that thats not the case, the top up 49 is a 24 month contract and I cant get a handset now, as Im not due for upgrade. i am not stupid, I've had a voda contract for the past 10 years and i wouldn't just imargine things, I know what i was told and I know why i agreed to take downgrade when at first my intention was to cancel the contract. I feel wronged, misled and to.
