MTN at the glen opposite 8ta are very unhelpful

I am from Lenasia and went to Trade Route Mall to add on a galaxy tab to my contract but they were out of stock, so i called the glen and spoke to a lady Sidi or Thadi, she advised that she has stock and i should come in and see her.
I drove all the way and when i got there she looks at me up and down and questioning me as if i am under age, i have 2 phones on contract with mtn as well as a modem, this is now my 4th year with mtn.
She asked for my ID and kept looking at my ID and back at my face again asking if i am sure that it is me.
Anyway she then filled in the forms and then told us we had to wait for approval before getting the tab, i found that very weird because i never had to wait for approval except the very first time when i took out the contracts, we waited over half an hour which was really frustrating so i told her to cancel it.
i then went to vodacom back at trade route mall and it took less than 10 mins. I will be cancelling my contracts with Mtn once my contracts have reached its expiry date as i feel all this was unnecessary especially when i have contracts with mtn for 4 years, why should i wait for authourisation just to add another item on my contract???
