Sim swop not working

I called into the call centre to do a sim swop as my phone was. They said i can buy a sim card from shoprite and then call them to do a sim swop. It was supposed to be activated within 24 hours and they said they will either sms me to a cell number i gave them to say it was activated or i can start using the sim within 24 hours. Its been two days now and still nothing? I am NOT calling in again to ask what is the problem as it is rediculous enough that it takes 24 hours in the first place. It is frustrating as i need the airtime to call as i am alone with my child from time to time. This is why i took a contract in the first place!!
