SIM SWOP REGISTRATION FAILURE

I went to MTN Woodmead on the 12th to do a SIM SWOP and was told the SIM card will be active within 24 hours. After 24 hours, the new SIM card was still rejected and upon calling MTNSP, they said there is no SIM SWOP request that was put forward but I paid R140 for it. Since my still had my old SIM card which is not holding well in the fone, I tried inserting it in the phone with the help of some papers to make it fit, and to my surprise, the old SIM card was still working and I could even make calls with it. Is the replaced SIM card not supposed to be deactivated upon SIM SWOP request? And why is the MTNSP database fail to have my SIM SWOP request when I paid R140 for it and after the system even sent me an SMS confirming that my SIM SWOP request is being processed. Now MTN Woodmead have to make another request that will take another 24 hours... very strange service from MTN indeed... extremely disappointed.
