No upfront disclosure of extra cost when upgrading

Dear Vodacom

I am very unhappy with your data upgrade service. You have advertised that I can upgrade my laptop data deal for the last almost 6 months, which I finally came around to do last week. I upgraded from a My Gig 3 to a My Gig 2, with a monthly cost of R359 (R379 being the old premium). Suddenly I see an amount due at the end of this month for R601.30, which is a lot more than what I thought it would be.

Upon enquiry I was told that I still need to pay the old laptop off for the next two months, and then it would be my agreed cost of R359 per month. Why was I not made aware of this when I did the transaction on the phone? I am sure you will find a reason to still make me pay, I just want to let you know I am very unhappy that there was no verbal disclosure that this will be the case and then getting a nasty surprise. If I remember correctly, when you upgrade a phone, you don't still pay off the old phone!

I am considering giving your new laptop back and cancelling my contract with you. I don't like dishonest service providers. Please let me know what can be done in this regard, it has not been 7 days since the upgrade.

The ref nr for the online upgrade is U593070
