So I decided to do my VODACOM cellphone upgrade on the Internet, because they advertised it as a cost saving way of doing it
BIGGEST MISTAKE!!!
When I logged onto Vodacom's website with my account and clicked on upgrade... it said: You qualify for an upgrade! So more than happy I followed the easy steps to select a phone and package, enter the delivery address and who-la... done! As easy as 3 steps!
Nope!
3 days later I received the new phone by courier, but also received a new micro-sim. Inserting the sim and switching on the phone, to my surprise I get a sms from vodacom with my "new" phone number!..NEW? It was an upgrade?
After calling the call centre 8 times and going to 2 Vodacom shops, the short of it is that they accidentally gave me a complete new contract and number.
Only way of sorting it out is to cancel the new contract... them coming to fetch the new phone and that I must upgrade again. I decided that I will rather go to shop to upgrade which cost me R250!!
Does'nt sound too bad? Except that they keep on charging me for the cancelled contract.
First /- R240 and now /- R470!!!
In total this whole stuff up must have cost me about R1000!!!
