Sim card problem

My mother, 70 yrs old living in Queenstown in the eastern cape more than 1000km from pretoria has a contract with virgin mobile and has had it for almost 3 years now. For the past 6 to 7 mnths her sim card has not been working. When she inserts it in the phone the screen goes blank. She initially thought it the phone and took it for repairs and was told its not the phone its the sim card. So when I came home we called their contact centre and we were told to just go into the nearest virgin mobile office and do a sim swap. Now our nearest office will probably be pe or east london. Which will be about 2 or 4 hours drive of which we never go to these towns. So I took the cardwith me to pta as I live in pta. On the 26 January 2014 I went to menlyn to to a sim swop. Missy informed me that they do not have stock and I must go to any shoprite or jet stores and buy a sim card. I askef her about Rica. She said the virgin mobile sim cards are already rica'd and all I need to do is to call their call center and they will do the sim swop telephonically. I went to jet bosman mall and they asked for rica document left and came back with the documents and it's still not done. Plz do something.
