No phone delivery after 6 weeks

I did a telephonic upgrade on my contract on 2 May, 6 weeks ago, but never received the new phone. After numerous attempts to try get an update from Vodacom and find out when I will receive the new phone, I gave up and went to a Vodacom shop last weekend to start the process again. I was told by the shop attendant that I could not do a new upgrade as the upgrade made on the 2nd of May is logged on the system, even though I still haven't received the new phone.

The helpful shop attendant made some calls this week and found out that the phone was apparently shipped to me on Friday the 7th, and I will receive it this week. Well, today is Friday the 14th, and still no sign of the phone.

I'm flying overseas tomorrow on a business trip and really needed the new phone to receive my emails while abroad. Needless to say, I'm seriously disappointed in Vodacom's poor service.
