I got a approval on the codes for my carpel tunnel surgery, and now after surgery the medical aid is refusing to pay claim which is over 15 000.00.i have taken this up numerous times with call centre and they just keep saying that the specialist fee was exhausted thats why they didnt pay. My issue is why did they approve the surgery if they knew there would be such a huge shortfall paid. I would never have gone through with surgery and woukd have looked for an alternative way. This was an in hospital procedure and quite necessary as i was in alot of pain. Where do they think i must get 15 000.00 in this economy of ours, and have been paying my medical aid monthly, so why do we have medical aid in the first place. I a very upset
