Mtn
Cancellation without informing the custome

I previously complained about a new cellphone contract, confirmed by an SMS from MTN as accepted, in late October for a Note 2 phone. Though a mail forwarded by hellopeter indicated that MTN apologised for the inconvenience (I complained of non delivery 2 months later) and indicated that the case would be escalated to district management level, I have not heard from them for another month.
A further disappointment in MTN is that I visited the outlet about a week ago and one of the assistants looked up my case on a pc and said that the contract had been cancelled "due to the long delay".
I am scandalised that a company can do this without contacting the customer in any way despite the fact this issue has been made public on Hellopeter and knowing I was waiting for a response. I am not sure, but I think the obligation on the customer to cancell a contract in writing (never mind in a phone call) surely also applies to the supplier? Whatever the situation about the legal obligations (which I consider relatively minor), this flagrant disregard of the expectations of a member of the public in respect of the good name of their company by their employees is inexcusable.
