Upgrade still not working after 4 days

I upgraded my phone on Monday, received the handset on Tuesday and until today (Thursday) my phone is still not activivated. After many calls to Vodacom (at least 15) i have worked out that the handset is faulty and now everytime i phone to arrange a new handset, i get pushed from pillar to post, or cut off!
No one can give me an answer and i sit without a phone!!
