Sim Swap Fail

I went in to the Cresta branch of MTN to do a sim swap on Thursday afternoon, 2/01/2013
I was told that it would take 2 - 24 hours to be activated. It is now 2 days later and it has not been activated. I called the service provider (808) to be told that the activation failed on the system on Thursday already. When I asked why I hadn't been informed of that fact, I was told that they have to wait for the customer to contact them.
I contacted the branch to find out what's going on, was told that someone would get back to me in 10 minutes, but I'm still waiting half an hour later. I have had it with MTN - EVERY TIME I have to do a sim swap I get this poor service.
