I took an airtime advance being stuck between a rock and a hard place about a month ago. I then got sponsored about R300 in airtime, thinking that the R11 will be subtracted from that, ned that everything will be sorted.
I then started receiving sms messages stating that I should please pay the advance. On phoning the call centre they explained that I should go out and buy airtime to repay this advance. When I asked the lady why they cant take it off the transferred airtime, she just said that its written in the terms and conditions, and that they will suspend my account. (I'm on prepaid)
Firstly, I'm unemployed, and can't afford much. The airtime was transferred so i can use it to find work etc.
Secondly I would like to know WHY they cant take it off my airtime, as I have more than enough on the phone to pay it. (The answer 'it is written in the terms and conditions isn't what I asked)
And lastly, I would like to know how they can suspend an account with funds available?

Unfortunately I can't remember the lady's name, but she just hung up on me. This isn't the service I normaly get from vodacom. I have been with the company for more than 13 years.
