Manufacture Fault- to be paid by client

I bought a Blackberry 9720 at Markhams on the 4th of October and less than a month later, my screen just cracked. I never dropped/smashed or knocked it. MTN now want me to pay R1800 to fix a manufacture fault and that's after I phoned blackberry telling them my problem where the guy told me, MTN or Markhams must give me my money back or a new cellphone. Not one are willing to do so, since they said it is "physical damage", even though there is not a scratch on my phone, ANYWHERE!
