I purchased an iphone 4s on contract from cell c in February 2013. Within a month after a had the phone it stopped playing music through speakers but would play when i use earphones. The speaker worked perfectly when I put the phone on loudspeaker. I assumed it could be a software issue so I upgraded the software but still the problem persisted. Unfortunatly my phone fell and cracked at the back before I had time to go to cell c regarding the issue. I recently booked it in for repairs on the audio issue. They quoted me R2356.94. When I called to ask what the quote is for I was told they had to fix the hardware as the audio problem is due to the physical damage of the phone. So I was told that I needed to pay that amount of money before they can even look at the actual fault of the phone. I do not understand this as I did not take the phone in for physical damage but for a totally unrelated issue. So basically what I am being told is that if I can not pay the requested amount. I should take my phone with its manufacture fault and continue paying my monthly subscription happily. This is daylight. If this is how cell c treats its customers then I do not know.
