I have received an sms today stating I could upgrade my phone and I have till the 23rd of December. Then after a few seconds I received another sms stating that my order and the order number is ready for dispatch.

I called 082 1959, the upgrades department, they stated that the upgrade was done today from my profile. I never even created a profile/ password on Vodacom website? Someone had to hacked into my profile recieved and accepted the OTP number in order for the new Samsung S4, Internet and Justin Bieber package to go be processed without me knowing of it.

Now I have to fax the forensics department (Vodacom would not give me their contact number or email address) my affidavit and certified ID for something I did not do.

This is unacceptable! There must be more effective security measures or where the client signs to upgrade! This is not my problem. Now I have to deal with the consequences... more specifically I have to wait for the forensics to figure out what happened and only after that I can upgrade?

There must be a simpler way to solve this.
