Vodacom does not protect customer's security

On 13 August, someone who called Vodacom and requested to upgrade to the most expensive package using my identity. When I received an sms notification about the upgrade and I immediately called Vodacom to cancel it. I was told that I called earlier to place the order which was not true. After being sent from pillar to post, I received an email confirming upgrade cancellation. Further to this, I went to sought an affidavit from the police station stating all the events just in case.

On 15 August, I received another sms confirming that my upgrade order was ready to be dispatched. I called Vodacom to cancel only to be told that I called earlier and said they should disregard the earlier claim of and process my upgrade. Again, I instructed them to cancel the order immediately and get the forensci team on this. I emailed the affidavit to Vodacom's department but have not heard anything so far and have not received cancellation confirmation.

Could this be an inside job? How did the person know that I called Vodacom? Why was the second request processed despite the cancelled of the first with a case pending? they clearly care about making sales even your risk!
