HOPE WE CAN RECIEVE SOME ADVICE FROM YOU IN REGARDS TO THE PURCHASE OF A CONTRACT THROUGH MTN.
We had applied for a upgrade for the new HTC X1 and waited over a month to be informed we have to choose a new phone cause they were unable to get stock, we received the Sony Ericson Z about 2 weeks thereafter. The main reason we had chosen the phone was due to the fact that the phone was water resistant.
About 2 and a half weeks ago my girl friend was texting in the bath and MADE SURE ALL THE FLAPS WERE CLOSED. Dropped the phone in to the bath for about 4-5 second before removing it and drying it immediately the phone was good for about 2-3 days thereafter but then started having a couple of issues (camera freezes phone auto rotate was not working and a couple other things). We were in contact with MTN and we were passed on to so many different places/contact centres to eventually be informed that the phone has to be taken to the repair centre in Midrand. I took the phone in on the 26/10/2013 and I called them today and they informed me that the warranty has been voided due to water damage. BUT ITS BY THE SIM PORT LOAD OF RUBISH.WHY IS THAT MY FAULT.
