Easy way out of warranty replacement

Hi

I took my Blackberry 9900 in for repair to the Greenpoint repair centre in Cape Town. It was sent to the advanced repair centre in Jhb. The phone has about 6 weeks before warranty expires.
They told me that the phone is irreparable and had to be replaced at my expense - as the phone was not working due to liquid damage! The phone has never been near water! Never dropped in a pool or bath or been in anyway immersed, dipped or touched water in any way in.
To me this is a cheap excuse to get out of replacing the phone as it is so close to warranty expiration. I do not accept this as a valid reason for my phone being irreparable.
