Account not closed now in legal

Hi, The account and contract was ending on the 30th of April 2013. I stopped working in December 2012. I made my last payment 2 MTN on February 4 with the last of my funds. In April my mom found out that I owed money on my MTN account of R1000 (feb/mar/april). I was given R1000 2pay the account and close it in May 2013.I went to the MTN store Clearwater, where a african lady assisted me. R500 was paid via eft to MTN, and R500 I was paying in cash. I advised the lady I was here to pay my acount. Se advised me that I was due for an upgrade. I told her I was there to settle the account and close it, and would not take upgrade. She punched some items on the computer. I asked her if everything was resolved, and if she needed anything or if I could leave. She advised me I could leave and everything was ok. I went back to the store twice. the first time their systems were offline, as my mother had insisted that I confirm that the acount is closed. 2nd time spoke to white man and he advised account was ok. I left. Now I call mtn my account is with legal. Why? I closed account in May, after using the airtime due to me after payment. MTN told me account was closed.
