Throttling Line

Hi

I usually do not do this so please excuse the format etc...

I am with MWEB now for more than 1 year on a 1MB uncapped line. My main use for this line is downloading as I am sure most people are using their lines for.

When I applied for the line, I specifically asked the call centre what the limit is for downloading before they throttle the line, who then told me that downloading excessively is not an issue. I average between 200GB - 250GB a month. I never had an issue where my line was throttled.

Tonight I called the call centre again as my max speed for the past 3 days has been 10kb/s. The operator told me that their management decided to throttle people with excessive usage and that communication was sent to all their MWEB email address. I also stated that I am not using the mweb email address.

Well, that being said... I have started looking at other ISP's and I will be moving my service as I do not find it amusing that MWEB sells an 1MB uncapped line with no throttling issues (as per call centre operator) and then decides to throttle lines. This is really unsatisfying especially after being with them for more than 1 year.
