Vodacom do not answer calls

I have tried connecting with 082 1958 for several days now without success. I find it hard to believe that a call can go unanswered for more than an hour without alerting someone in your organization to the fact that customers are being ignored.

My contract with Vodacom comes to an end on 22 September and I want to cancel my contract. How difficult can that be? I visited a Vodacom franchise outlets only to learn they are "not allowed" to cancel contracts! How stupid is that? Anyway the person did send off a fax but she was not very confident that anything would come of it and suggested I go to Canal Walk which is a "real" Vodacom store - they might be able to assist! Holy smoke! Are these people for real? I have never come across service this bad - not even government departments are this bad.

Now I'm not certain that this is going to get anyone's attention either but for what its worth, here goes.
