Vodacom not willing to refund account

In April I upgraded to a Samsung S3, for 5 months they were charging my account for BIS when clearly a Samsung phone on Smart L package do not use Black Berry BIS. After realizing my account is being charged for this I called and asked for a refund and was told NO, as this is a extra service and I should have deactivated it. (this was not explained to me!)
I do feel this is unacceptable as if you owe them R1 on any account it will be suspended, but thy can charge and you have to pay!
