Ridiculous service

My MTN contract was cancelled a while ago and it took effect on Sunday. Since then my sim card and number haven't been working. I spoke to a person at MTN on Sunday morning and I was told my that my number was deleted because my contract ended. This is ridiculous. I have been on three other networks and had contracts on them and have never had my number deleted. A request was made to reinstate my number. I still do not have my number back. I need my number for everything and have been seriously inconvenienced not having it. Phoned today and was told no one has even looked into my request even though I got a reference number. I was also told I have to take out another contract just for them to try get my number back. I have had the same number for 12 years and I want to keep it. Absolutely shocking, ridiculous service from MTN. What network would just delete someone's number? If that is your policy then you owe it to your clients to ask them if they want to be changed to prepaid. No respect at all for your clients. Rude staff too. They have made and make like they are doing you a massive favour by doing their jobs.
