I've been an uncapped subscriber with MWeb since they did their Free The Web promotion, around 3 or 4 years, ago. I'm on the 2MB uncapped package. I do download using this account but schedule my downloads to start at 10pm every night if there is something in my queue and stop again at 6am the next morning. Most of these downloads are from MWeb's own usenet server so probably doesn't even leave their network. Today I received an email saying that MWeb will be throttling my connection from September because I am using too much bandwidth. Their uncapped accounts are more expensive than everyone else and now they want to throttle them as well. It seems they want to pull an Eskom and make people pay for their service but have them not use it. Well my cancellation request has been sent and I will actively be warning anyone who will listen NOT to use MWeb in the future.
Thanks for bringing uncapped internet to the masses but you've seriously lost the plot now.
