I received a threatening email from MWEB to restrict my 1Mbps UNCAPPED ADSL. MWEB have shaped and throttled my service for several years and I have never attained the speed indicated by MWEB in their contract and on their website. MWEB sight their unspecified AUP policy.
I do not continuously download or abuse my account It is impossible at the speeds I get.
Mweb's AUP states:
'You may not restrict, inhibit or interfere with the ability of any person to access, use or enjoy the Internet or any services, or create an unusually large burden on our network'
But in the very same threatening email they offer me a more costly upgrade package indicating that I am not overloading their network and the threat to me is basically extortion.
Ashley Anthony of MWEB has refused to divulge the data limits of the UNCAPPED AUP as his reply to me indicates:
"We don't feel that we have to publish our limits as they are extremely lenient"
MWEB does not publish these limits so they can be changed in their favour at their own free will.
To me MWEB is contravening the Advertising Standards and Consumer Laws of South Africa.
UNCAPPED means UNCAPPED.
MWEB no standard Hellopeter reply please.
