My phone was on Friday 19/07. As I did not have all the information readily at hand on the day, I called 173 to blacklist the phone. The lady was very helpful and took all necessary information. She instructed me to call back the following day to obtain an ITC Rference number. On calling to obtain the number, I was informed the procedure has not been activated. It's beyond me why this takes so long?? I then bought and RICA'd a new sim card to do a sim swap. On calling 173, I provided info such as physical address and ID number. I was then asked questions such as when last I loaded airtime, what was the amount I loaded and which number I call on a regular basis. I provided information as best I could but did not provide all the information correctly. Hence the swap was declined purely because I can not recall when last i loaded airtime, what the exact amount was nor what numbers I dial regularly. I was then told I must call back when I remember the information or go and get an affidavit from the police that I am the rightful owner of the number. This I find rediculous as they can see that the number was RICA'd amny years ago. Why is a suppossedly procedure so complicated?
