Cannot get my 2Gb data

I have had my prepaid SIM card for more than 4years and when i got a contract phone with MTN i started using the prepaid SIM on my 3G modem, thus i only load bundles on the SIM and transfer loyalty points to it to buy data bundles, i have not loaded air time on it for a very long time, i cannot remember the last time i loaded airtime on it. more than a week of struggling and not knowing why i could no longer connect to the internet after loading 2Gigs of data i phoned MTN last week and i was advise that i need to do a SIM swap my SIM has "expired" for internet use. so i bought a SIM, RICA'd it, tried to do a SIM swap using my old SIM to call 173 and i was told to use the new SIM. I used the new SIM and the first security question is "How much air time did you recharge the old SIM the last time" my answer "please ask me something about data because i have not loaded airtime on the SIM for more than a year if not 2years as I buy bundles for it, using internet/cellphone banking. I was told I can't do a SIM swap i have to go to a police station and make an affidavit with that statement. I have not lost my SIM, it is in my possession I just cannot use internet, whats the security Qs 4?
