I joined Virgin Mobile in the begining of July 2013. because now they have better deals (double your airtime) available when you have a current phone and join their network, port the existing number, I would rate them ahead of Vodacom and MTN. However, simply put their Network bandwidth services! They piggy back off Vodacom services only @ 2g strength and Cell C @ 3G but with very poor coverage. I work in Central Joburg and they don't even have proper 3G coverage, and I welcome any Virgin tech to come sit to see it for themselves. With constant requirement to reconnect on Dual network mode between vodacom and Cell C (which ever is the strongest) I vote that Virgin Mobile remove their mobile services from the south African Market. Becaue they just don't have to offer what 8ta, MTN or Vodacom offers. I am past the point of logging so many calls with Virgin mobile customer care centre and not getting any feedback or just being simply ignored. Richard Branson, take your back and once you can provide a competitive product to the market, then we will probably think of supporting it. I am switching to MTN. How can you sell a product that just does not work???
