I recently renewed my contract with MTN - I have been with them since November 99.
At the point of renewal I requested a 750 anytime contract, about 4 months later I decided I would like to UPGRADE the account to a 1500 contract. After completing the forms and being assured that all is in order, I hear nothing, in fact the silence was deafening. Last week I followed up after noticing that my billing was incorrect. I requested a mail from the branch where the account was "upgraded" and got feedback that the migration is impossible because of the fact that it is a Promotional package.
I can understand this if I were trying to go for a lower package, but I want to move to the premium package. In addition the internal systems are not friendly - decision makers sit in ivory towers, so there is no way to contact anybody that will or can listen and approach this from a logical perspective. My decision is made after I have met my contractual obligations I will port my number to another provider - probably a smaller one, where my needs are important.
