Vodacom direct (directly into confusion that is)

I have a prepaid number which I wanted to convert to a contract number. I have been with vodacom for about 10 years, I have 4 contracts with them, an to be honest I have always had good service especially from the voda shop, however this time I decided to cutout the middle man an go through vodacom direct and now I am paying the price for that decision. When I took out the new contract I explained that I wanted the prepaid number to be on contract, I was told that it would not be a problem, once the sim has been activated I must just call customer care an they will do the sim swap. Since my sim has been activated I have contacted vodacom on numerous occasions an have just been sent from pillar to post, no one is able to assist me. The last phone call I made to them I was told that now I have to go to a voda shop because only they can do the swap so I am sitting another day with a phone that I cannot use even though I am paying for it an to add insult to injury the consultant tells me that she just needs to speak to the help desk quickly and then she will call me back... needless to say I am still waiting. Anyway the lesson has been learnt DO NOT deal with vodacom direct!!!
