I activated a new Vodacom contract package on Tuesday 5 November 2013. I did so specifically to convert my prepaid number to contract. I called activations requesting they do so and am informed there is no record of the prepaid number. I was assured it will be activated in 3 - 5 hours on the number requested. Lo and behold, 5 hours later, the line is activated with a random MSISDN. I called back the following day and after some pressure, arranged to have a new SIM delivered so the problem could be rectified (great service by the way). After receiving the new SIM, I called back and instead of linking the requested number, the agent does a swap rendering that SIM useless. After luckily finding someone with a replacement SIM I'm finally sorted, or so I think.
I am now being billed for both lines, my prepaid number and the random one activated first. Debit orders have gone off my account for both and after multiple calls to fix this, I am still no closer. And no one bothers to call within the promised turnaround time.
So Vodacom owes me the funds for the extra line returned to my account, any charges associated to the unwanted debit order and a new micro SIM to replace the ruined one
