Everywhere on Afrihost's site they say that one has to give 30 days notice before cancellation.
30 June
I requested that my DSL portion of my line be cancelled
04 July
My line was cancelled without them contacting me for confirmation
05 July
I lodged a complaint in the hope they would assist me.
They then said that they apologise for the inconvenience and that there is not way to fix the issue that they caused, telling me that it would take 30 days to reconnect.
07 July
I was forced to contact Telkom, and they gladly assisted me, telling me that it would take between 1-7 days for the reconnection.
Now I ask:
- In what form does one have to give the 30 day notice for a cancellation?
- According to the staff, the whole cancellation process is automated, meaning that they have no interaction with their clientele up until the point that they are unsatisfied due to the automated process not functioning as stated on their site?
- How is it, that a company such as Afrihost who's core business function is to provide broadband access and hosting is not able to assist a client with broadband access with a better response time that Telkom?
Afrihost is pathetic!
