Last year Feb the phone cables in our area were. Telkom's very efficient technicians after about 2 weeks connected my line to another home. That homeowner ran up a bill for the month which I was billed for. I then called into the call centre on many occasions trying to get them to credit my acc to no avail. My line was then reconnected but as I had not paid the bill (which was not mine), it was disconnected soon after. In May I received a call from a very rude, unhelpful Mrs Smit who instructed I fax through my statement, marking off all the phone no's I was disputing, which I did. That was the last I heard from Mrs Smit! After another call to the call centre, I was advised to go to the walk-in centre in Claremont. There I was told that they don't deal with such disputes but logged yet another dispute. During all this time, I have been billed every month for a line which I have not had and now have an escalated bill of over R1000.I I have now been handed over to Telkom's lawyers and have subsequently been unfairly blacklisted. 2 weeks ago I spoke to Mrs Smit again who once again logged yet another dispute! She promised to get back to me in 2 days. I'm still waiting!
