I had a query on facebook about the availability of the HTC One. I was contacted within a few minutes by a consultant and sold a sales pitch. I was told that I could get the phone in 5 working days. Under this premise, I sent through all my documents and had my contract upgraded. After the upgrade, I was told that the phone would only be available at the end of May and that there is "nothing we can do about it". I even went to Vodaworld and was told the same thing. When I called some of the franchised outlets, they were also out of stock and waiting for stock from Vodacom. However, they were able to subsequently receive the phone within a few days and sell these to other customers. I do not understand how a franchise is able to deliver this phone quicker than the head office. Furthermore, whenever I call the customer service, I am told a different story about when the phone will be available. Lastly, please do not advertise a product if you do not have stock and are only expecting it in a month. Vodacom has alway been good with customer service, but i was appalled by the lack of information available to consultants as well as the empty promises!
