Renewed my Vodacom contract for another 2 years (wondering why!) No phone available in store and asked assistant to phone other outlets - there are 3 in Fourways mall - and was told no phones anywhere. Waited a few days and then passed one of the other outlets and enquirer about phone availability. They had stock- and have had this stock all along! Went back to original outlet and asked them to get a phone from this outlet - they phoned but were told no stock! As I had just been there I asked them to walk to the other outlet and check - he returned with the phone!
Observations:
Clearly easier to say " no stock" (paperwork??) than to satisfy the customer.
Manager had no idea when stock was arriving.
Wanted to reverse the renewal signed - this required letters and faxes and would take "24 to 48 hours"
No apology was made at any stage
I told them they should take care of their customers and the reply was: "we'll, I did walk the extra half mile! " (Referring to the short walk to the other outlet?!)
It is a hassle to change from one provider to another and they play on this.
