A cover for my Galaxy SII was purchased at the MTN store in Irene Mall. It has a "2 Year Warranty" label on it. Shortly after purchase, the cover is cracked in 2 places. The phone was never dropped nor was the cover removed.
The MTN Store said "they do not cover the warranty displayed on the box" and that I should call the supplier: QD Cellular.
Chris @ QD Cellular was baffled by my call when I explained to him what I was told by the MTN Store. He said I should have no dealings with QD since the item was purchased at retail level. He promised to follow-up on my query.
In a return call from Chris @QD, I was told that the manager at the MTN Store claimed that I had dropped the phone.
This is a blatant lie!!! The cover was inspected-theres no evidence to support that claim. I am fed two stories here:
1.That MTN does not honour the warranty on the box.
2.That my phone was dropped.
This is pathetic. How does one do business like this?
I demand a replacement cover OR a full refund from MTN. I also request MTN SA consider a change of management OR a complete shutdown of that store. There's no place in the corporate environment for people of this calibre.
