POOR SERVICE, PRODUCT (SAMSUNG S3 MINI FLIP COVER)

I purchased a samasung Glaxy S3 Mini Flip phone cover for my girlfriend from MTN store as a gift, after just a few days of use and paying R 249.00 for it we noticed that the cover was not as durable as expected and of poor quality, i went back to the store to exchange this piece of merchandise and was told i needed to wait for a manager for approval, left the cover with them after waiting a further 5 days (with no response) i had to keep contacting them!! only to be told there was still no manager who visited the store to check out the merchandise as yet, after the 6th day i contacted the branch again was told the manager would be in, went in and was told they are unable to exchange the cover for me as they will not be able to sell the merchanise again as it was used, NOT MY PROBLEM!!! when i bought the cover i was told there is a warranty on it, and now i am unable to make use of this service??? If i wanted a poor quality product i would have gone to a make-shift cellphone store down the road from me and got one there for R50. Instead i spent R249.00 for was suposedly to be a "quality product" I WANT A NEW COVER PLEASE!!! Or give my money back!!!
