I was prematurely upgraded last year June to a Samsung Galaxy 3 which means I only qualify for a new phone end of 2014. I was very happy with my Samsung and even preferred this phone over my Iphone. About 2 months ago the phone started giving me problems as it would drop calls or I couldn't hear the caller or they couldn't hear me. I backed up all my information and rest the phone to original settings but I still had the problem. I could browse the internet and send sms's but still experienced intermittent problems with voicecalls.
I took my phone to Vodacare in Menlyn and they in turn send the unit to the advance repair centre. After inquiring about the progress I was told that there is a R2 000 repair charge and because the phone has a scratch on the screen it will not be repaired under warrantee. They want to replace the screen at a cost of R2 000 but haven't even looked for the actual fault on the handset! I am absolutely appalled by their response. I do not want a new screen, I want my phone repaired! This is a very poor reflection on the technical expertise of both Samsung and Vodacom.
Back to Iphone.
