CANCELATIONOF MTN CONTRACT

I HAVE BEEN WITH MTN FOR 8 YEARS ON A TELEPHONE AND VARIOUS OTHER CONTRACTS.

CELL NETWORKS IN CENTURION PHONED ME TO UPGRADE MY CELL PHONE DUE TO MY 2 YEARS CONTRACT THAT HAS EXPIRED. I DROVE 78KM TO THEIR SHOP TO RENEW THE CONTRACT. THE SALES LADY ADVISED ME THAT THE BLACKBERRY Z10 WAS A GOOD PHONE AND IT WAS NOT GIVING ANY PROBLEMS. 2 WEEKS LATER I HAD TO DRIVE THE 78KM TO CENTURION AGAIN BECAUSE THE PHONE WAS TERRIBLE. DROPPING CALLS ALL THE TIME, ASKING FOR UPGRADES, BLOCKING CERTAIN APPLICATIONS ETC.

I WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE PHONE TO MTN SERVICE CENTRE IN MIDRAND, WITCH I DID IMMEDIATELY (ANOTHER 30KM). MTN MIDRAND GAVE ME A NEW PHONE BECAUSE THE OTHER ONE WAS APPARENTLY NOT RESPONDING TO THE UPGRADE. THE NEW PHONE HAD IDENTICAL PROBLEMS AND IT WAS EVEN WORSE. I COULD NOT SPEAK TO ANY ONE MORE THAN 5 SECONDS. I RETURNED THE PHONE THE VERY NEXT MORNING. MTN SAID THEY DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO NOW!!! A SALESMAN CAME TO MY RESCUE AND SAID THAT HE WILL FILE A WARRANTY CLAIM FOR ME. WHICH HE DID.

THE WARRANTY CLAIM IS APPROVED AND NOW EVERYTHING STOPS.I PHONED MTN LEGAL DEPARTMENT AND SPOKE TO 3 DIFFERENT PEOPLE NOBODY COULD RESOLVE MY PROBLEM. I AM WITHOUT A TELEPHONE
