Visited Cell C in Cape Town for 2 reasons:
1) To get the LTE launch bundle that I want to used in an iPad - this was 2999R for the bundle 150R for a SIM swap to micro-sim for use in the iPad
2) To get a new SIM for my iPhone that was - I wanted to port my old number so it cost me another SIM swap for a nano-sim
For the 1st swap, the SIM simply won't do LTE in an iPad - possibly because the settings are wrong but on-one was able to help me with the settings. When we took the SIM and but it into the USB dongle at the shop, the best we could get was 3G - they claimed that LTE was in "test phase" - what's the point in paying 3000R for that?!?
For the 2nd swap, I had mentioned that my previous SIM was a data sim but they said that with a swap I would be fine... well it turns out I cannot go to the 99c plan on the new SIM and I had to buy a new one (and get a new number) at the price of only 10R last week!
10R for the new SIM when it cost me 150R per swap 1 month ago...?! I questioned that and the shop admitted that the price was so high they were losing customers...
All in all, pretty disappointed with Cell C.
