After I complained initially about line not getting installed, Telkom re-scheduled appointment to today and sent technician from Cape Town that went the extra mile to get the line installed.
While I am not happy about having to complain before I get some proper service, I am happy with the service I received today and would be ecstatic if Telkom fixes line problem in the area that currently prevents me from having phone/ADSL.
P.S. Terence probably deserves a raise imho.
