Breach of Contract, CPA, POPI and Unethical Behaviour.
I am writing this complaint in the hope that other consumers will be aware of the unethical practices and incompetence that I've encountered, so that they may make informed decisions as to whom they choose to do business with.
Lionel Lottering, salesman at Planet Fitness, disclosed my personal information to a 3rd party without my permission which is a breach of contract as well as against the CPA (Consumer Protection Act) as well as POPI (Protection of Personal Information Act).
And when I say personal information, I mean a copy of the contract which has a lot of personal information, including a very clear copy of my ID and bank details, and other information.
My lawyer has sent an email to the Regional Manager of that gym as well as posted a letter, however I have been informed that they have not sent any response at all thus far.
There is another issue regarding other unethical practices, however due to space limitations, I will have to submit another report.
I suggest all consumers find out what their rights are and seek help from the office of the Consumer Protector where warranted.
