Bad Customer Relations Management

I drive 30km to the gym, only when I get there I'm told my membership has been cancelled. My account was outstanding and I paid it in full on Friday the 9/11/2013, during payment I was never told of the membership status. Tell me about poor customer relations, poor communication, poor service excellence. I'm disgusted by wasting my time, now I must travel back home, didn't achieve my goal.
