The entry for this year's Comrades was R320 rand per athlete, which is no small amount of money. The entry form asked for the athletes T-shirt size and a confirmation of the T-shirt size was sent out to each athlete. This, in my opinion should then guarantee the athlete, who paid the required entry fee on time without any issue, to get his or her desired T-shirt to wear with pride after the completion of the race.
My wife ran her 4th comrades this year. She is small and requested a small T-Shirt. For reasons beyond our control we could only get to registration by 16:00 on Saturday in Durban. She was then informed that the Comrades Association regrets to inform that the T-Shirt size she bought as part of her registration is not available and that only large T-Shirts were available - 2 sizes UP!!!
To date I've been ignored in my request to get this resolved. Not good from a premier sporting event in our country!! Giving SA a bad name in my opinion!
